2013 Season - Week 22 (Cont)
All-BUMS 2013
The 2013 BUMS Player of the Year is Marshawn Lynch who won in a landslide, scoring 32 points, the most since 2006 when LaDainian Tomlinson equalled the record of 41 originally set by Priest Holmes in 2002. Beast-mode received votes from all 13 owners who voted including eight first place votes. It’s his first start after being a back-up last year and he is joined by Jamaal Charles as a starter with Knowshon Moreno and LeSean McCoy as the backups. Peyton Manning starts at QB for the third time and he has also been the backup three times. His six appearances ties former teammate Marvin Harrison in third place, one behind Randy Moss (6 starts 1 backup) but still three behind Terrell Owens (7-2). Jimmy Graham leads the receivers (for his first start after being a backup in 2011) ahead of first time All-BUM Demaryius Thomas and Calvin Johnson who gets his fourth consecutive start as well as being a backup in 2008. New NFL longest field goal record holder Matt Prater makes his first appearance in the All-BUMS team and it’s only fitting that they are coached (for the first time) by Superbowl winning Head Coach Pete Carroll. The 13 BUMS who voted made 54 different choices for their favourite players (see votes attached).
BUMS End of Season Dinner
Johnnie is still on the case arranging the venue but from feedback so far it will be after work (ie a weekday) in central London later in the month. Anyone else want to join drop me a reply sharpish. Hopefully we can finalise details in next week’s newsletter. Talking of which…
Final Newsletters
So that’s it for the season but I have two more newsletters to send out over the next fortnight. They will include Franchise Player availability, free agent NFL players, trading day analysis, the weekly scoring chart, the medals table and the updated All-time leading points scorer.
